The Olympics Opening Ceremony is the most watched television event on earth. The sponsors and advertisers pay billions of dollars for broadcast and advertising rights for the Olympic Games. Who do you think they pay so much money to attract? Us, the consumers and TV audience.
This year they expect 1 billion live audience to be watching the Opening Ceremony on TV, mobile and online.
We are not pleased with China's human rights violations in Tibet and to its own people, economic links to Sudanese militias in Darfur and close ties with the military junta in Burma. We want to show that for China to rip the economic benefit of the civilized world, it has to conform with our human rights expectations.
Now, do you realize how much power we have over these issues when we can be all united together to exercise our bargaining power? We will have more influence than any street protest!
What better way to make your voice heard by joining in our protest campaign that intrinsically links to the commercial reality of the Olympic Games :
We are NOT WATCHING the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games!
